Go to the athletics website right away and vote to name our new, living Chesapeake Bay Retriever mascot. Save the poor fellow from being stuck with the name "Champ."

The people who are voting for Grit and Gritty combined are more than the people who voted for Champ.
Why are they even two separate options? Seems to me like Gritty is just a nickname for Grit...
I thought the name of our mascot was True Grit? Why do we need a separate name for the live dog and the statue/person wearing mascot costume.
Really if the dog isn't named "True Grit" then can it REALLY be OUR mascot dog?
simple answer is NO. The name needs to be True Grit. Call it Grit, True, or Gritty but the actual name should read True Grit
